Privacy Policy
TryScamMe is a 2025 group project built by a team of IT students at Monash University (“we”, “us”). Our aim is to help students and professional newcomers recognise scams. The site is also suitable for the general public and may be used by government sectors with further assistance. Our contact address is . You can reach us at .
1. What we collect
We do not collect or store personal information about visitors. Specifically:
- No accounts or user profiles.
- No saved history of what you paste or upload.
- No analytics, tracking cookies, pixels, or third-party SDKs.
- No marketing emails or newsletters.
If you paste text or upload a file for demonstration purposes, it is processed transiently to produce a result and then discarded. We do not keep the content you submit. We operate with only minimal, non-identifying technical signals that are necessary to run the website (e.g., generic uptime/error counters without IP addresses).
2. Where our data comes from
Charts, examples, and statistics shown on the site are built from public datasets (e.g., government sources such as Scamwatch and open datasets such as Kaggle). These sources do not contain personal information about you as a visitor to this site.
3. Cookies & SDKs
We do not use cookies, tracking technologies, or third-party SDKs.
4. AI/Model processing
Any on-page or server-side analysis is performed only to generate a result for you in the moment. Inputs and outputs are not stored and are not used to train third-party foundation models.
5. Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell personal information. Because we do not retain personal information, we do not routinely share it. Basic hosting is used to operate the website; no personal data is shared with sub-processors.
6. Retention
We retain no personal information. Transient inputs are discarded after processing. Non-identifying operational metrics are rotated periodically.
7. Your rights & contact
Since we do not hold personal information about you, access/erasure requests generally do not apply. If you have questions or concerns, email us at .
8. Security
We use reasonable measures (e.g., TLS in transit, least-privilege access) and, importantly, we do not maintain a datastore of personal information.
9. Children
This site is intended for individuals aged 16+. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us at .
10. Changes
We may update this policy as the project evolves and will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
